The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is committed to keeping your online information safe from cyber criminals. That’s why they’re making the client-to-agent linking process even more secure, starting from 13 November 2023. This will apply to all entities with an ABN, except for sole traders.
To link your ATO information with The A Firm, you will need to use the new agent nomination feature in Online services for business. This will happen every time you engage a new tax or BAS agent, or payroll service provider to represent yourself. You can also provide extra authorisation to The A Firm as your existing authorised agent, such as if we start representing you for a new obligation, like activity statements or a new entity in your group.
Once you have completed the agent nomination, we will have 7 calendar days to add you to our client list, so please notify us once you have sent us a request. By taking these extra steps, the ATO is ensuring that your information is more secure and less vulnerable to fraud and identity-related theft.
Please see our below guide on how to link your ATO information with us so we can best assist your tax & financial needs!
